Pearl of Wisdom

Small details hold a world of meaning. Pearl of Wisdom celebrates the heirloom quality of a pearl: luminous, enduring, and made to be passed along. This avant-garde look was created from the painting The Case of the Curious Oysters by Maxwell Miller. Beauty from darkness :Five pairs of repurposed men’s dress slacks were used to create a skirt in the style of the 1800s. The lobster bustle was made from recycled fishing nets, and a cascading cluster of oyster eyeballs adorns its back. The look is a still life, crafted in the spirit of the painting, which was on display at Sotheby’s in New York this past summer. It was also the inspiration for the Bloom Collection.
